Housing
Flintshire's adopted Local Development Plan (2015–2030) provides for 7,870 new homes against a housing requirement of 6,950.

Transport
The council is consulting on an update to the Flintshire Active Travel Network Map (walking, wheeling and cycling routes) until 2 November 2026.

The council's Climate Change Strategy 2025–2030 sets out a path to a net zero carbon Council by 2030.

Education
The council is considering a proposal to close Saltney Ferry C.P. and Saltney Wood Memorial C.P. schools and open a new community primary school; the statutory consultation closed on 29 July 2026.
