Housing

Carmarthenshire's Revised Local Development Plan 2018–2033, still at examination, identifies a housing requirement of 8,822 homes.

Transport

The council is consulting on its Active Travel Network Map of walking, wheeling and cycling routes until 26 October 2026.

Council tax

The council's Band D Council Tax for 2026/27 is £1,830.97, an increase of 4.90%.

“For the Council Taxpayer, the Band D tax levied by the County Council will be £1,830.97 for 2026/27, which represents an increase in Council Tax of 4.90%.”

Environment

The council is working towards becoming a net zero carbon local authority by 2030.

Education

The council is consulting on moving Ysgol Llandybie to a Primarily Welsh (Category 3) pathway for all pupils, phased in from Nursery in September 2027.

“The Council is proposing to make a regulated alteration to the Welsh language provision at Ysgol Llandybie. The proposal is as follows: Amend the whole school’s language provision so that all pupils follow a Primarily Welsh (Category 3) pathway.”
