I'm driven by a sense of service and helping others fostered while serving 22 years in the RAF as a photographic specialist. I worked on all aspects of millitary photoraphy from intelligece gathering and technical photography to media operations.

I've served in many theatres of operations from Northern Ireland's Operation Banner to taking part in air operations Iraq on Operation Warden, helping to keep the UK safe.

Being from a military family its difficult to call somewhere home but Ive certainly found that now settling in the beautiful Moorlands.

In 2024, after many years as an armchair politician I could see that the country had been on the wrong track for a long time and decided to get involved to bring the change needed and make it so people like me and you can hope again.

I joined Labour because I saw the hard work that our councillors have been doing at SMDC trying to improve our local areas, from delivering an award wining market hall in Leek, taking Cheadle’s market back into public ownership and investing in green energy at Biddulph Leisure centre. In them I saw a group that are ambitious to revive our towns and villages, provide good services and look after the most vulnerable.

I particularly like the Rural Regeneration Fund set up solely by SMDC to help our villages and local businesses through these turbulent times. Our towns only thrive when our villages are productive too.

Outside of Politics and the Labour Party, I was involved with the campaign to save the minor injuries unit at Leek hospital and I’m a trustee with Claire’s Community Pantry, a social supermarket in Cheadle.

Along with my wife, Liz, we volunteer with Almost Home Dog Rescue fostering dogs in emergency need. We work to reabilitate damaged, neglected and abused dogs so they can be integrated back into a domestic environment and find the forever home they deserve.

I’m standing because I want to give back to the Staffordshire Moorlands, a place I’m proud to call home and like my predecessor Dylan, protects our green and beautiful home for generations to come.
