Hello, I’m Craig Griffiths, and I’m proud to be standing as the Conservative candidate for the Llangennech and Bryn ward in the upcoming by-election on 25th June.

I’m local to the area, coming from a hardworking, working-class background, and I now help run our family logistics business. I live in Tumble, just 15 minutes up the road, with my wife and our two daughters.

I strongly believe that our villages are the heartbeat of the community. Places such as Llangennech are defined by the people and organisations that bring residents together — from the rugby club and community centre and library to the bowls club, Bryn Café, and The Bridge. These are a vital part of what makes our area special, and I believe we must work together to protect and support them.

I also believe that maintaining our local infrastructure is of huge importance. Llangennech is a busy through-road that needs proper investment and upkeep. Last month, Kemi Badenoch spoke about a “pothole patrol” initiative, and I believe practical measures like this can help keep our roads safer for everyone. We must also ensure that our footpaths and bridleways are kept clear and well maintained, so residents can enjoy the beautiful countryside around us and stay active outdoors.

Our rural communities and farms are equally important. Farming is at the heart of Carmarthenshire, and I am committed to supporting Welsh farmers and standing up for rural communities.

These are the priorities I share with local residents, and the issues I will work hard to champion if elected next month to serve on Carmarthenshire County Council.
